It’s Not Always Easy, But It’s Worth It

Being negative is automatic. Every where you turn, there’s bad news. Negativity requires no energy or effort because it’s rooted in apathy, but ositivity is rooted in self-confidence. Being positive takes effort, and it’s not easy – but it’s worth it.

This always brings to mind one of my favorite poems that deals with this topic directly. It’s something I’ve read over and over for years.

If you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don’t;

If you like to win, but think you can’t,

it is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose you’ve lost,

For out of the world we find

Success begins with a fellow’s will –

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are –

You’ve got to think high to rise.

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man;

But sooner or later the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.

I posted on Facebook the other day this quote and I think it’s appropriate here as well:

“Don’t allow someone else’s opinion of you become your reality.”

If you’re not believing in yourself – why should anyone else?
